Happy Friday! What a crazy week it has been for us! We started the week in Asheville, NC for our one year wedding anniversary 🙂 and once we came back, I left for Washington DC for 24 hours. Needless to say, the last two days at work have been a little hectic. Now that we’ve made it to the end of the week, I thought I would share my favorites as some weekend celebration for you all!
- Celebrating One Year
Phil and I celebrated one year of marriage on October 21st, and it could not have been a more perfect weekend! We went to Asheville, the city we fell in love with one another in, and just enjoyed spending time together. We ate delicious food, and took in the gorgeous fall weather. It also happened to be a weekend we could meet up with good friends, and visit with some family!
2. Apple Picking at Sky Top Orchard
Something I always wanted to do! We had some time on our way into Asheville, and our good friends Gabe and Erin were in Hendersonville area on Saturday. We decided to meet up at the famous Sky Top Orchard, and had a blast! Even though the weather was yucky, we laughed and caught up with one another while picking some apples. The day wasn’t complete without delicious apple cider doughnuts, and warm apple cider to sip one while walking.
3. Exercising for Fun
I have always had my workout routine, but the past few months I’ve enjoyed mixing it up a bit. We have a Peloton, and love the app that comes with the monthly subscription. There are other forms of exercising other than cycling, and between trips, Phil and I took advantage of their walk/run program. I can’t tell you the last time I went running, but it felt amazing outside and I really had a lot of fun working out with Phil.
4. Butternut Squash Soup
While in D.C. I got to meet up with my very good friend, Rachael Hartley (who has an amazing blog, click on her name). She was ending FNCE as I was coming in for PPW, and recommended we eat at this adorable restaurant. This soup from Centrolina Italian Market and Restaurant was amazing! Guys, I could have eaten so many bowls of this soup, it was that delicious. The dollop of goat cheese, micro greens, and pumpkin seeds are something I will definitely be adding to my next recipe!
5. Fall Decorations
The leaves are finally starting to change, the air is crisp, and the fall decorations are beautiful throughout our neighborhood. We took Lucy out for a walk this afternoon, and the porches were so cute with the pumpkins and mums. I love decorating this time of year, and will share soon some fun decorations you can add for November!
Whew, what a week! I have enjoyed every minute of it, but definitely looking for some more chill time this weekend. The weather will be very fall like, so I have plans to make Phil participate in some more fun fall things 🙂
